Guerilla Publishing - SHORT STORY COMPETITION

SHORT STORY COMPETITION

Guerilla is on the hunt for the hottest, most talented, inspired & inspiring new writers in the English language. We are looking for:
  • Previously unpublished writers. If you have had work appear in magazines, e-zines or have self-published, that's fine. We would like an original piece, however, ne'er seen by angel nor jinn.
  • Up to five thousand words. & not a glyph more.
  • Something different. This is hard to pin down - best bet is to look at our already published titles for clues. Our first is a fable posing as a thriller; our second, a dark metaphysical love story across time; next was something akin to practical guerilla philosophy; and coming soon is a surreal and irreverent fin de siècle thriller, a kind of Lord of the Flies meets Edgar Allen Poe - on acid. If that doesn't help: can your writing make a reader view the world through new eyes? It's as easy as that.
  • Submissions in by April 1st 2013. No, it's not a prank.
Our editors will choose the finest seven short stories, which will be published as an anthology, in both Limited Edition hard copy format and as ebook. Royalties will be paid, which after publication in Autumn 2013 should, if fairly divided, extend to at least a couple of rounds in any pub beyond the south-east. More importantly, we at Guerilla hope it will be the start of brighter weather on your literary way.
Do you have the Guerilla spirit? Email submissions to editor@guerillabooks.com
*(small print: no cash prizes; successful entrants announced June 2013; editors' decisions are final, except in the face of frankly ludicrous threats/bribery)
