Story Slam » Short Fiction For writers in Plymouth Area
Is your short story worth £50? Why not read it aloud and let the audience and our panel of judges decide?
HOW IT WORKS
Write a 4-minute story to read aloud (350-400 words maximum), titled ‘The Wave’. Would-be competitors’ names are drawn from a hat if we can’t fit everyone in. The audience and judges vote for a winner. Runner-up prizes include copies of our latest issue. Entry (for both authors and audience) is free.
TIPS
- Practice your story before the slam – the time limit is absolute
- Try to end with a bang
- Stories of any genre / style are welcome
- Remember the title and interpret as you wish
WHERE AND WHEN
Held bimonthly, our inaugural slam will be 8pm Tuesday 4th December at Plymouth Social Club, Tavistock Place, PL4 8AX.
HOST: Tom Vowler JUDGES: Top secret, they will be flown in on the night!
