The Book Show, RTE has launched a short (short!) fiction competition. They are seeking stories that are a minimum of 100 words, up to a maximum of 200 words. The O’ Brien Press will publish a book of the shortlisted stories.

Guidelines
1. The competition is open to people born or resident in Ireland and must be in English.
2. Submitted stories must be a minimum of 100 words, up to a maximum of 200 words.
3. Stories can be on any subject or theme.
4.All stories must be original and unpublished (including online).
5. No more than three stories by the same author can be entered.
6. Writers of the winning and shortlisted stories agree to have their stories published in a book and by entering give their permission to do so.
7. Entries should be written in the knowledge that each of the short-listed stories will be read on air.
8. The stories must not contain any libel or defamation nor should these stories infringe existing copyright.
9. The deadline for entries will be 23rd November at midnight.
10. A small panel of judges will be judging these with these entries, their decision is final and neither The Book Show nor RTÉ can enter into correspondence concerning the judging or merits of any entry.
11. The author is advised to retain a copy of his/her entry as The Book Show nor RTÉ cannot return scripts.
12. There will be no additional biographical material etc about the writers included in the book.
13. Stories will be simply presented as Title, Author, Story.
14. The Prize for the winning entry is 100 books selected by The Book Show.
