SLIM VOLUME: WHEREVER YOU ROAM
Our second Slim Volume – Wherever Your Roam – will be published in May 2015 and will feature poetry and flash fiction involving place and environment.
Every story happens somewhere, but your place needs to be more than a setting – it should almost be a character in its own right, or an otherwise irreplaceable part of your poem or story. It doesn’t matter if it’s a tale about what happened to someone traveling in distant locations, your feelings for a place you haven’t been but already love, or a story about someone who hasn’t left their hometown even once.
The only other requirement, as ever, is realism (magical realism is okay) – please don’t set your story, for example, at Hogwarts or on Tattooine.
So give us all an experience – good, bad or otherwise – with an environment or location of your choice in one of these forms, or a blend of the two:
- Poems – 40 lines or less
- Flash fiction – 750 words or less
Previously published work is fine, as long as you let me know where it appeared first, and you still own the rights.
