Side Eye publishes new and contemporary work only: snappy fiction, poetry, non-fiction, comics, art, and mixed media from emerging and established writers and artists. Each issue presents a dynamic array of work from Australia’s and the world’s boldest and brightest.
As a digital magazine, we’re particularly interested in submissions that laud the digital platform – making use of hyperlinks, images, GIFs, embedded video, sound, and whatever other tech tricks you have up your sleeve – to accompany your writing.
We DO publish:
- snappy feature-length and micro fiction
- feature and commentary-length non-fiction
- poetry
- offbeat artwork, mixed media, and comics
We DON’T publish:
- reviews
- non-fiction or fiction of 5000+ words
- topical pieces
- columns
We ask that all submissions are previously unpublished in both print and online, and come accompanied by a brief biographical note. Please read the guidelines below prior to submitting. The majority of our issues are unthemed.
