Writer-In-Residence at Jane Austen’s Worthing exhibition. Deadline: April 24.

WOW - Jane Austen's Worthing

The search is on! Writer in Residence Position We are looking for a writer in residence as an essential part of the Jane Austen’s Worthing exhibition (run by Worthing WOW) between 23rd May-7th June. The writer will have a free pass to all events, workshops, walks and talks between these dates (worth £100).

The writer may be an amateur or professional writer who enjoys writing poetry, stories, plays or any other form of writing. Key to the residency will be the delivery of a creative writing workshop in which participants will learn how to develop writing technique, and key elements of creative practice, inspired by the resident’s own methods and experience. A fee is offered for delivering the workshop, and the writer will also have the opportunity to promote their own work.

In addition, our aim is for the resident writer to produce a reflective piece of work by the end of the exhibition, which will then be used by Worthing WOW to promote future cultural projects.

This is a unique opportunity to become a Writer in Residence in a short term exhibition which will cement your working relationship with Worthing WOW – an organization which champions local talent.

To apply for this position please send two writing samples and a brief outline of any workshop/teaching experience (including a cv if possible) tomelodystories1@gmail.com by 24th April. Shortlisted candidates may be invited for interview. The chosen writer will be notified by 4th May. In the subject box for the email please put: Writer in Residence position.
