The Anna Lindh Foundation and the European Institute of the Mediterranean has launched a call for the 8th edition of the international competition of short stories and tales "A Sea of Words", under the slogan “The future that we want demands sustainable development”. The contest is aimed at young people between 18 and 30 years old from the 44 countries of the Euro-Mediterranean area, and the deadline is 31st May 2015.
The stories cannot exceed the maximum length of 2,500 words. The he winners of the best 15 stories will be awarded with the publication of their work and will invited to an awards ceremony at the end of October 2015 in Barcelona and will be invited to participate in a program of visits and cultural activities.
Travel expenses, accommodation and meals will be paid by the organizers. For further information:

The Anna Lindh Foundation and the European Institute of the Mediterranean call the eighth edition of the international competition of short stories and tales "A Sea of Words", aimed at young people from the 43 countries of the Euro-Mediterranean area.
The contest is aimed at the production of short stories focused on sustainable development.
Participation requisites
The competition is aimed at young people between 18 and 30 years, citizens of one of the 43 countries of the Euro-Mediterranean area.
Format of the works
The stories cannot exceed the maximum length of 2,500 words and can be written in any of the official languages of the participating countries. They must be original and wholly unpublished works. The short stories must address issues related to intercultural dialogue, mainly of a political, socio-cultural, economic and environmental nature.

The authors must include their personal details within the stories submitted (complete name, nationality, address, date of birth, telephone number and e-mail).

Participation in the contest implies surrendering to the IEMed and the Anna Lindh Foundation the copyright of the work entered into the contest. The Anna Lindh Foundation and the IEMed reserve the right to publish and use the works received for future activities.
